Festival information

The North Sea Film Festival (NSFF) is a 3 day festival which takes place in cinema Studio/K, Amsterdam, from 6th to 8th november 2009. The first two editions of the North Sea Film Festival took place at the Museon in The Hague. In 2007 the festival started as a platform for underwater filmmakers that didn't have a venue to show their films. Meanwhile, the NSFF has experienced that underwater films are also popular with film, nature and artlovers and is the festival developing into a weekend packed with water related films, debates and art for a wider audience.

The North Sea Film Festival isn't just about screening underwaterfilms and documentaries, but there is also plenty of room for Q&A's, debates and expositions:

Floating Dogs
Walking through this exhibit you will find yourself amongst swimming dogs.

Expo Marine Squares
A series of colourful underwater pictures shot in the Dutch waters, but will not be recognised as such.

Video Kubus / Video Cube
A virtual aquarium where the screens form four windows on the underwater world.
Artists: Jorn van Eck and Conny Theunissen.
Location: Timorplein voor Studio/K.

How to get there?
Studio/K is located in the heart of the lively 'Indische Buurt' in Amsterdam-Oost, nearby de Dappermarkt en is very easily accessible.

Public transport

Train: Amsterdam Muiderpoortstation. Only a five minute walk from this station.
Tram: Tram 3, get off at Dapperstraat
Tram: Tram 7, get off at Dapperstraat
Tram: Tram 10, get off at Eerste leeghwaterstraat
Tram: Tram 14, get off at Zeeburgerdijk
Bus:    Buslijn 15, halte Molukkenstraat (Insulindeweg)

- Parking: friday - saturday from 09:00 to 21:00h - €2,40 per hour
- On sunday there is no parking fees

Opening hours
Saturday 7th november: 10.00h.
First film starts at 10.30h.
Last film starts at 21.30h.

Sunday 8th november: 10.30h.
First film starts at 11.00h.
Last film starts at 13.45h.

The Studio/K restaurant is open daily until 22.00h.
The bar is open until 3.00h. (weekdays until 1.00h.)
